Campaigns and Advertising.

During my time at wagamama I have designed for a range of purposes, national campaigns, new site openings and bespoke events. Each of these require materials to support them such as out of home advertising, social ads, hoarding, flyers and more. The below campaigns give you an idea of the types of projects I have worked on.

Soul Sessions

This regional campaign brings together lgbtqia+ artists and wagamama events, hosting the performances in the restaurants. For this social ads, flyers, posters and aboards were required to advertise the event. Target audience was gen z, by making the advertising brighter and bolder, this appealed to the younger audience catching their attention while also linking into the lgbtqia+ rainbow. If you would like to see more projects please contact me, as there is plenty more!

Willy’s Pies

East London based Willy’s Pies collaborated with wagamama to bring our an exclusive chicken katsu pie. For this I designed pie boxes, a sampling truck wrap, aboards, fly posters and placemats which were used in the sites offering the pie. Audience was generally z and millennials and the truck toured the uk offering samples to help support sales of the pie in selected restaurants.

Battersea Opening

wagamama opened in Battersea in 2023. For the launch of the new site advertising in London tube stations, hoarding, awareness flyers, event collateral such as tote bags and placemats were required. The tote bag features a graphic drawing of Battersea power station, aiming to get the location message out there visually.

Hoarding

Hoarding is a large part of my current role at wagamama. Being a fast growing business, new sites often need hoarding to promote the opening of a new site coming soon. Below is an example of Chatham a 2024 new site for wagamama. Photography has been chosen based on their demographic for the area and the simple but effective design represents the minimalism of the brand.

Royal Festival Hall Event

Each year at Southbank, London host New Years Eve fireworks and Wagamama’s restaurant on Southbank offers an exclusive event. For this event I created a set of collateral to tie in with the Japanese route that the site would be decorated in. I draw lanterns to form the part of the collateral that would tie everything together. Created a placemat that guests would try Japanese calligraphy. Finally, I made set menus for the event.

Wimbledon Season

Window vinyls and out of home advertising to promote brand awareness in the local area during Wimbledon tennis season. Vinyls are inspired by the lines on a tennis court, using these blocked to showcase photography. The out of home video was displayed in the town square where a bit screen was showing the matches as well as adverts in-between.

Sashiko Event Collateral

Sashiko is a type of Japanese embroidery. This workshop hosted by wagamama celebrated this craft, opening the doors to guests to try this technique. The event required a digital invite, supporting menu and pop up inspiration cards to help bring the event to life.
